i wrote a post a while back on the sophisticated chevron- herringbone parquet floors are a whole other ballgame. i’m finding pinterest to be a bit like dangling a piece of raw meat in front of a bloodhound without the intention of ever feeding the poor salivating dog. when i scroll and drool through pics of sprawling parisian apartments fit with 15 foot ceiling heights, ancient intricate moulding, and parquet floors, how am i ever to a achieve this? i believe the art of decor inspiration is taking bits and pieces (high and low) deciding where to spend to give that luxurious feel… not so different from fashion where i often window shop couture to help discourage spending too much on fast fashion while educating my eye for when the affordable pieces are dead on, or decide a piece is worth the creative accounting.
