i have a fantasy whereby i’m sitting on the floor of my brand new house, windows airing out the smell of fresh paint, admiring my decision making skills on the hardwood i chose, and leaping up to unwrap my brand new womb chair. although this dreamed up home is filled with boxes, and desires updates that could take years, it is comfortably old- with features that only a house that’s stood for decades and lived through generations can acquire. the instant reward of placing this beautiful modern chair will encourage me that i am on the road to supremacy- the ultimate mix of old and new. i love the combo of old desks with modern chairs, modern kitchens with reclaimed french doors, classic hallways with futuristic light fixtures- all so very desirable. i just can’t pick a side.
