velvet touch
i’m beginning to have a new love affair with velvet. it can be so wrong (like any version with cheap black de masque, or god forbid any form that resembles chenille.) when it works it’s like grandmas basement gone glam, somewhat like what an oversized tweed coat can accomplish. the more modern uses sans tufts give a super cool old/new feel. even though in the worst of times (ikea) the mere touch of it makes me gag, i’m willing to search for the smooth, luxurious, velvet fabric to cover my next sofa.
